Aboriginal Education at Terrigal Public School

Terrigal Public School is committed to strengthening Aboriginal education through respectful partnerships, culturally responsive practice, and high expectations for every learner. We acknowledge the Darkinjung People as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play, and we recognise their continuing connection to Country.

Terrigal Public School is an active member of the Kuriwa Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), supporting authentic connections with Aboriginal families and community voices so that Aboriginal perspectives and cultural knowledge are valued and embedded across our school. A key part of our approach is working alongside community.

Across the school, Aboriginal education is supported through ongoing cultural opportunities and personalised support. Terrigal Public School develops Personalised Learning Pathways (PLPs) for Aboriginal students in partnership with families, and provides opportunities for students to connect with culture and community through experiences that have previously included GulangFest and activities including Koori Choir.
