Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.

For more information, listen in your language.

Visit the department’s translated documents section for important information that’s relevant for your child’s education in many languages.

Communication with parents

Our school has an open school policy and parents are urged to contact the classroom teachers to discuss their child's development. The Principal, members of the Executive and Teachers are also available to further discuss your child's development. Parents have an open invitation to visit their child's classroom by arrangement with the classroom teacher to participate in the learning programs.

Parents are always welcome in our school. We are aware of the importance of your role in your children's education and believe that parents and teachers should work as a team to ensure the best education for our students. A strong, positive home-school relationship, based on mutual respect, provides sound support for students as they strive to realise their academic, physical, social, emotional and moral potential.

Whole-School Assembly

An assembly for the whole school is held every Friday morning. During these assemblies recognition is given to the many wonderful achievements of students at our school. Additionally, the names of the weekly class Merit Awards are announced.

Team assemblies are held at various times during the week.  Your child's classroom teacher will inform you of the time.  The assemblies are managed by the students of the school and a class has the responsibility of presenting these assemblies. Many awards are presented at these assemblies. They include Merit Cards and Certificates, which recognise achievements of students.

Assemblies are either whole school assemblies or team assemblies. Parents are warmly invited to share these occasions with us.
