Rules and policies

Rules and policies are in place to make sure your child remains safe and well at school.

Visit the NSW Department of Education’s policy library for all current operational policies.

Our school uses the department's School Community Charter to ensure all of our communication is collaborative and respectful.

Attendance and absences

Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.

In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent and remain in school, employment or training until they turn 17.

For more information about compulsory school attendance, visit:

Late Arrival/Early Departure

A late arrival is recorded as a Partial Absence and must be explained in writing or verbally by a parent just as for other absences.  Please attend the office and speak to staff to receive a partial absence slip.

If for any reason you plan to remove your child from school during school hours, please write a note or Dojo to the Class Teacher.  When you collect your child, please visit the school office first so that you can sign your child out and obtain an 'early leaver' note.

Extended Absences (more than 5 days)

Students are encouraged to attend each day.  Families should plan holidays and extended absences to coincide with school holidays.  For absences of five school days, please contact the office to obtain an application for extended leave - travel form or download a copy from the website.
