Science and technology

Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.

Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.

At Terrigal Primary School our students enjoy using technology to enhance learning.

With WiFi installed in every classroom, students enjoy using the mobile technology options such as iPads and notebook computers. We have a dedicated computer classroom, an interactive classroom, as well as additional computers in the library. The school library and all of our classrooms have Interactive White Boards, which our teachers and students utilise for engaging learning activities.

Web-Based Learning

With whole-school subscriptions to Mathletics and ABC Reading Eggs, students at Terrigal Public School can engage in quality numeracy and literacy web-based learning, both at school and at home.
